Our Meadow Nursery In Saffron Walden has been opened since 1993, it sits in the beautiful grounds of the Friends School,

close to the entrance at St Johns Close. The Day Nursery was started originally in 1985, in Clavering in Essex, and was moved in 1987 to Stansted, where the original Nursery is still operating. We have a great deal of experience and expertise. Both Nurseries maintain very high standards, and keep the ethos of the Montessori ideas throughout their interaction with the chilldren. Meadow Nursery can will accept children from the age of two years, unfortunately at the moment we do not have the abillity to accept babies. We are geared towards the education and development of children of this age, so necessary in todays world. Our Nursery at High House in Stansted, does have a separate babies area, purpose built for children aged from 3 months.

Your child is very special, both to you, and to us. We`know that we provide excellent care for the children entrusted to us.

All children have the right to develop their skills and knowledge to the very very best of their ability, we believe in our children, and we encourage them to become self confident little people, who in turn will believe in themselves.

Local Primary schools have always said they know when a child has come from the Meadow Nursery, it is obvious in the way in which they interact when they arrive at school.

Our Children know how to behave, they are aware of how to wait, how to sit, how to make themsleves heard, how to address their teachers and their peers.

We believe in giving children a real headstart into their education. It is so improtant for them to start their primary education safe in the knowledge that they have the structures to cope, the knowledge to deal with any problems and difficulties.

One of the primary aims in our work with children is the development of skills and knowledge.

Nursery children, quiet sharing of experienceCare and Education are integrated, the 'seamless web' of care and education interacting to provide the optimum environment to allow children to progress without fear or prejudice, developing learning and living strategies that will assist them through their lives.
Our remit has always been to provide a centre of excellence for children, combining daily care with all that this implies, emotional, physical and intellectual stimulation, with sound educational provision
